Privacy Policy

Introduction

realestateseo.ph ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services.

The section below lists every field stored against a form submission, including the fields you do not type. It is checked on every build against the migration files that define our database, so a field added through one of them without being described here fails the build rather than shipping quietly.

Information We Collect

What you tell us

  • Contact details: Your name, email address, phone number, company or brokerage name, and your role in the transaction, as you enter them into a form.
  • Your website: The web address of the site you ask us to look at.
  • What you write: Anything you write in a free-text field: your message, the challenge you describe, how you found us, the countries you sell property into, and the languages your buyers speak.

What we record about the submission itself

  • Submission record: Which form you used, the date and time you sent it, and a random identifier for the record.
  • Where you came from originally. On your first ever visit to this site, your browser stores the first page you landed on, the site that referred you, any campaign tags in the address, and the date and time of that first visit. That record is sent with the form when you submit one, which can be weeks or months later. It is stored against your submission so we know which page or campaign brought you here, and it is not used to track you across other websites.
  • Where you came from this time. When you submit a form we also record the page you were on when you submitted and the site that referred you to it.
  • Country: The country your request came from, which our hosting provider derives from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored in our records.
  • Browser and device: The browser and device identification string your browser sends with every request.
  • Spam flag: A flag recording whether an automated filter judged the submission to be from a bot. This is an automated judgement, it is not always right, and you can ask us to correct it.

What is stored on your device

  • Local storage: your first visit. This site uses your browser's local storage, not a cookie, to hold the first-visit information described above. It is saved as a record under the name reseo_first_touch, which has no expiry and stays until you clear site data for this site in your browser.
  • Local storage: the blog's articles. Whichever page you arrive on is built on our server. When you then open a blog page by following a link on this site, without your browser loading a fresh page, the blog reads and searches its articles in your browser instead, and to do that it writes a copy of the published article text, and a checksum of that text, to local storage under the names content_collection_blog and content_checksum_blog, so the next blog page does not have to fetch it again. Following links between pages that are not blog pages writes neither record, and neither does arriving on an article from a search engine and reading only that page. These hold articles we have published, not anything about you. Like the record above, they have no expiry and stay until you clear site data for this site.
  • Session storage. Sometimes the site has to reload a page rather than carry on. The case we have measured is us publishing a new version of the site while your tab is open. The same code can also run when part of a page fails to load, though we have not observed that path writing these records. When it does happen the site notes the address it was trying to reach, and the state of the page it was on, under the names nuxt:reload and nuxt:reload:state, so it can reload that page once instead of looping. Session storage is discarded when you close the tab.
  • Local storage: your analytics setting. If you opt out of analytics, or dismiss the notice at the bottom of the page, the site records that under the name reseo_analytics so it does not ask you again and so the opt-out survives you closing the tab. It holds your setting and nothing else, and it is written only when you use one of those two controls.
  • Cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies on this site, described under Analytics below. This site sets no cookies of its own. If you opt out, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted from this browser and no further ones are set.

How We Use Your Information

  • Respond to your enquiry and deliver the audit, call, or service you asked for
  • Understand which pages and campaigns bring people to this site
  • Separate genuine enquiries from automated submissions
  • Comply with legal obligations

How Long We Keep It

We keep form submissions for 24 months from your last contact with us, and delete them after that. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we do that instead.

Analytics, and how to turn it off

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages and campaigns bring people here. It runs unless you turn it off, which you can do at any time using the button below or the notice at the bottom of the page. We do not ask you to accept it first, and we say so here rather than leaving you to discover it.

While it is running, Google Analytics sets cookies on this browser and sends Google the pages you view, the site or campaign that referred you, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We use it in aggregate and it is not linked to your name or email address unless you also send us a form.

Loading your current setting.

Opting out does three things on this browser: Google Analytics stops running and receives nothing further, its cookies are deleted, and the first-visit record described above is removed and is not written again. That covers the tab you opted out in and every page you open here afterwards. If you have other tabs of this site open at the time, Google Analytics keeps running in those until you reload them. The setting is stored per browser, so opting out on your phone does not opt out your laptop.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Two service providers process it on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare hosts this website and stores form submissions in a Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare operates infrastructure worldwide, so your information may be processed outside the Philippines.
  • Google provides Google Analytics, described above, and receives the measurement data it collects while it is running. Google operates infrastructure worldwide, so that data may be processed outside the Philippines. What Google does with it is governed by its own privacy policy.

Cloudflare, as the host, receives every request it serves, because serving a request means receiving it: your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser identification string reach Cloudflare on every visit, whether or not you ever fill in a form and whether or not you have opted out of analytics. What Cloudflare does with that is governed by its own privacy policy.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy of it
  • Request correction of inaccurate information, including an incorrect spam flag
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
  • Withdraw any consent you have given, without affecting what was done before you withdrew it
  • Opt out of marketing communications, should we ever send any
  • Complain to your data protection authority

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We answer within 30 days and we do not charge for it.

This site is operated from the Philippines and is subject to the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Its pages are written for readers abroad as well as at home, including Overseas Filipino Workers in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Japan, so the rights above are offered to everyone who contacts us, whether or not the GDPR or Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information applies to a given submission. Where the GDPR applies, our lawful basis for most of what we do is legitimate interest: responding to the enquiries people send us, understanding which pages and campaigns bring people to this site, and preventing automated abuse of our forms. That second purpose covers every visitor, not only the ones who write to us, and it now reaches further than it used to: while Google Analytics is running it reports your visit to us whether or not you ever send us a form. The first-visit record described above works the other way and is written on your device when you arrive, before any enquiry exists, and if you never send us a form it stays there and we never see it. The opt-out above turns off both. Where we keep or hand over information because the law requires it, the basis is that legal obligation and not our own interest. We do not send marketing email and we hold no marketing consent, because we have never asked for one. If that changes, we will ask first and this page will say so before we send anything.

We measure how people find this site. Google Analytics runs on these pages and sets cookies, and your browser keeps a record of the page you first landed on. You can turn both off. Details are in our privacy policy.
